Nike’s Air Jordan ‘PSGs’ Pay A Fitting Tribute To France’s Footballing Giants
by KIERAN SPRATT @thesportsman
This shoe comes in a white, black, ‘Psychic Purple’ and ‘Hyper Pink’ colourway.
Paris Saint-Germain have absolutely dominated French domestic football for the last decade, picking up seven of their nine Ligue 1 titles from 2012/13 season onwards, became Champions League contenders in the process and, with the Parisians currently trailing behind joint-league leaders Lyon and Lille by just a point, you wouldn’t bank against Neymar and co. picking up title number ten when the season comes to an end.
Point being, PSG are big time and massively fashionable right now. The club have been honoured in a new batch of Air Jordans and, hey, not everyone gets that privilege. Announced this summer and set to drop in Spring 2021 as part of Jordan Brand’s Paris Saint-Germain 2021 Collection, the Air Jordan 1 Zoom Comfort ‘PSG’ is a fitting tribute to one of footballing’s giants.
Dressed in a white, black, ‘Psychic Purple’ and ‘Hyper Pink’ colourway, the shoe includes a white leather upper and black suede overlays. The tributes to one of France’s most successful football clubs are all in the detail, with gradient motifs found around the shoe’s collar and Air Jordan Wings branding that reflects the PSG kit. With a white midsole and black, rubber outsole, reflective, luminous Swooshes adorn the sides and a PSG badge completes the look on the heel.
Retailing for around £110 in the UK, the Air Jordan 1 Zoom Comfort PSG is expected to release sometime next Spring at select retailers and the Nike webstore. For more on Nike, check out our favourite sneaker drops from the sportswear powerhouse in 2020 here.
